Chicago has plenty of unique museums that are worth visiting. Many of the best museums in Chicago are a short drive from 215 West. Here are three of our favorite local museums in Chicago:

National Museum of Mexican Art

The National Museum of Mexican Art features over 5,000 paintings, sculptures, and photographs. It also offers free admission. The work ranges from modern to traditional and it’s small enough to view the entire museum in one day. There are also wings in the museum that are dedicated to political and religious paintings. The gift shop features items representing Mexican culture as well as mugs, scarves, and artwork prints.

Museum of Contemporary Art

Founded in 1967, the exhibitions are ever-changing, yet this museum maintains a light and airy atmosphere. Whether the exhibits include mostly photographs or sculptures, the art reflects on culture and the technologically advancing world we live in. The artists invite their guests to view the world from a different perspective. It’s a rather small museum and will only take around two hours to explore.

The Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the oldest museums in the United States, offering Greek, Roman, and Byzantine art as well as modern art. The museum also features contemporary artists and a medieval section. Monet, Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Van Gogh are some of the notable artists featured at this museum. The arts of Africa, China, and Korea get their own individual sections as well.
