Chicagoans are no strangers to cold winters and with that, finding ways to stay warm during those chilly months. With all that the city has to offer, there is no reason to have to only hunker down at home to beat the cold. There are lots of places to take the chill off while exploring this vibrant city. Here are some of our favorite cozy spots in Chicago:
Mindy’s Hot Chocolate
Nothing warms people up quicker than hot cocoa and in Chicago, the place to get it is Mindy’s Hot Chocolate. Located in the Wicker Park neighborhood, Mindy’s Hot Chocolate was opened by famed James Beard award-winning chef, Mindy Segal. This spacious eatery uses a mix of industrial and rustic finishes to create a welcoming vibe. The highlight of the menu is, not surprisingly, the array of hot chocolate offerings with everything from a rich Mexican drink to the spiked boozy beverage.
Tucked away in Logan Square, Scofflaw has made a name for itself as one of the coziest spots in Chicago. Created as a “gin-focused” cocktail bar, Scofflaw boasts numerous fireplaces which makes it easy to settle in for a delightful afternoon or evening. In addition to a menu filled with comfort food items such as Pinn Oak Farms Lamb Spare Ribs and a Steak Tartare Tostada, this hotspot hits all the marks by bringing out warm chocolate chip cookies after midnight.
Open for over fifty years, Geja’s Cafe is a Chicago mainstay known for its decadent fondue menu and romantic setting. Found in Lincoln Park, this charming eatery sets the stage with soft lighting and an acoustic guitarist playing background music. The menu offers a selection of fondue favorites such as Swiss Gruyere cheese fondue and Belgian chocolate fondue as well as an extensive wine list.Back to all posts
